RIGHT TO INFORMATION

The Right to Information Act 2005 empowers citizens to seek information from public authorities to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority. Mahamaya Polytechnic of Information Technology is committed to providing information as per the provisions of the RTI Act.

Applicability

The Act applies to all public authorities including:

  • Government at all levels (Central, State, Local)
  • Bodies owned, controlled or substantially financed by government
  • Non-government organizations substantially financed by government

Suo Moto Disclosure

As per Section 4(1)(b) of RTI Act, the following information is disclosed voluntarily by MMIT:

  • Details of institute's establishment, objectives and functions
  • Organizational structure and hierarchy
  • Duties and responsibilities of officers and employees
  • Rules, regulations, manuals used by institute

  • Budget allocated to the institute
  • Details of expenditure and financial reports
  • Subsidy programs and beneficiaries
  • Particulars of recipients of concessions and permits

  • Academic calendar and course curriculum
  • Admission process and criteria
  • Fee structure and scholarships
  • Examination system and results

Frequently Asked Questions

Any citizen of India can request information under the RTI Act. Non-citizens and organizations are not eligible to file RTI applications.

The application fee is Rs. 10/- which can be paid in cash or through demand draft/IPO payable to "Principal, MMIT". For below poverty line applicants, no fee is required (BPL card copy needs to be attached).

Information which would prejudicially affect sovereignty and integrity of India, security, strategic interests, intellectual property, cabinet papers, personal information without public interest, etc. can be denied as per exemptions under Section 8 of RTI Act.

If you don't receive information within 30 days (or 48 hours for life/liberty cases), it is deemed refusal. You can file first appeal to Appellate Authority within 30 days of deemed refusal or actual refusal.
